Layouts and NEW, NEW ,NEW!

I found this website called Puzzle Sketches which I just love. Its a great concept where you make your own sketch but you have to include certain elements determined beforehand. Its great fun and something different from the usual.

Here’s my August entry:

Step x step for July 2009

Here’s a new step by step project using the new Fancy Pants Kraft Kuts range.

Sweet Indiana

  • Fancy Pants Kraft Kuts – Die Cut Lattice
  • Fancy Pants – This Girl Accent Stickers
  • Fancy Pants – This Girl Pink Alphabet Stickers
  • Bazzill Swiss Dot cardstock and Bazzill Sweetheart
  • Kaiser Enchanted Rub-ons
  • Kaiser Plum Pearls
  • Dusty pink single stitch ribbon
  • Collections branches and hearts
  • Making Memories Manila paint

July step x step

Step One – cut a piece of pink swiss dot bazzill larger than your photo, then a piece of sweetheart bazzill larger again and longer by about 3 inches.

July step x step 1

Step Two – Distress around the edges (the more torn the better) of the pink, then attach your photo as shown on a slight angle.  Place the sweetheart bazzill piece in the middle of the lattic diecut.  Add the matted photo on a slight angle.  Add your title/name with the sticker letters to the top right of the photo.

July step x step 2

Step Three – Mat the picture card (the one with girl on the top)  with cardstock.  Cut a strip of pink dotted card 2 inches wides and the width of the page, add the scallop sticker and a button.  Attach as shown.

July step x step 3

Step Four – Paint the Collections branches with MM Manila paint and glue down.  Loop ribbon into a bow several times, pull out into a flower and stitch to hold it securely.  Cut a 5 petal flower from pink card, slightly bigger than the ribbon made with flowers and doodle around the edge.  Punch a small circle to place in the middle of the ribbon flower.  Stick them together with 3D foam dots and add pearls.  Rub butterfly rubon to a scrap of off white cardstock, adhere using 3D foam.

July step x step 4

Step Five – Add painted hearts (with doodling), the word sweet (using the alphabet stickers) and you are all finished!

July step x step 5a

1st layouts from DT kit

Well its been a bit of a tough week with an infected tooth that had to come out yesterday but none-the-less I’ve still managed to get some scrapping in. Here’s the first ones from the DT kit supplied by the lovely Anna from Anna’s Craft Cupboard.

a connection

This layout is my version of the August sketch challenge from Anna’s. I absolutely love these Daydream papers from October Afternoon.

Don’t you just love the mix of green, orange and brown together?

I’ve just completed the August step by step project using more of these beautiful papers so stay tuned to Anna’s blog.

I’ll post the June one here hopefully tomorrow.

Now don’t laugh….

Well I only just finished the last page design, using up the last of my DT kit for July, when 10 minutes later, my August kit walked in the door (lol).  Talk about timing!   Not that I really mind (snigger).

10 minutes

– a typical straight-lines ‘me-style’ page.

Love you notes

This one uses the October Afternoon Ducks in a row stickers and I inked the whole page.

A real challenge using this Fancy Pants Kraft cut diecut.

play ball

…my favourite.  Not my usual style but I LOVE it. I think I’ve finally cracked the ‘Fran code’ as I like to call it.  Fran Tynan is so clever at putting awkward size photos together in a group.  I think I’ve worked out that as long as you group them, then encase them with patterned paper – it works.  Thx for the inspiration Fran.

DT 1

Some beautiful October Afternoon DAYDREAM and love those AC thickers.

DT 2

3 Bugs in a rug SIMPLE PLEASURES and MME BLOOM & GROW – yum yum!

AUGUST SKETCH CHALLENGE from Anna’s Craft Cupboard.

Might give this a go with some of the DT kit stuff.

Ouuuw, I’m so thrilled to have jumped up the rankings to 165 in less than a week after re-registering.  A big THANKYOU and a hug to everyone for visiting.  Truly – I’m amazed at so many visits so soon – its very humbling.  There are plenty of more talented scrappers out there than me, but I’m grateful (& excited)  just the same.

As promised…boy layouts

First I thought I’d show you these cute little muffin cases my girls made (remember that are only 6 & 7 years old.  I thought they did pretty well.

I gave them some old Daisy bucket papers, some ric rac and a pattern and off they went.

OK.  I did it (finally). I don’t scrap the men in my life very much just cos I’m such a girl-junkie. Love my pretty pages!  But DH does have an album of his own… just one, but it is nearly full.

5 laps

5 laps detail

I used the Cherry Arte ‘His & Hers’ papers.

Top Gear

OK, OK, I know there’s a girl in it (lol) but essentially it is a boys page. I can’t help it if she likes cars……

Butterflies page

butterflies details

This one was taken the day in went into labour – in fact just a couple of hours before my baby girl was born!  So glad I got this photo.

And finally, have to end with a girl page…. well, shall we call it a play page.

I love the colours in this one and my thanks to Wendy from the DT team – her SWING page inspired this one (well, the title anyway).

I joined the blogs and something went wrong with my button and I fell right back to the bottom again ‘cos I lost my average.  Bummer…..
Oh yes, I’m endeavouring to add all the product details to my gallery pages too but it will take some time.
