I’m a flower girl

Yep, just can’t stop using them, whether they are paper, ribbon, fabric, lace, whatever…just love them although I do want to try doing some soft-looking pages with other products besides flowers.

Idea 85: Ink the lace.

Idea 86: Use the pearls like fairy dust or sprinkles.

One from the Websters Pages Lullaby range using Prima & kaiser flowers.

Idea 87: Decorate the felt lace with pearls.

Psst!….Have you heard? Prima are on the hunt for a new DT!  Just imagine how many talented scrappers are going to apply! Its going to be tough to get in……

I do actually have 3 girls…. (lol)

Seems like I’ve been scrapping my eldest and youngest DDs exclusively lately, (its just that their photos were the right colours). So I promised the next page would be of my other DD – she was very pleased with it.

From my DT kit, this one uses Bo Bunny Mammi-Razzi.

Idea 78: She particularly liked this sparkly tissue-paper flower I made.  You just cut 5 layers of 3 different size circles, stitch them together in the centre, spray with glimmermist, then blow-dry with a hair dryer and the layers separate. Quick and fun.

This next one uses more from my kit, Little Yellow Bicycle CLOTHESLINE range.

Can you believe her little tongue poked out like this for 6 months till we found out what it was causing it.

Idea 79: Make a lace rosette for the flower centre.

Idea 80: Back the journalling spot with felt (I would havr preferred to use pinking sheers, but I had none).

Idea 81: I think I can call this one my very own idea, I call it ‘FROSTING’. I dabbed an old toothbrush into the gunky paint that collects at the top of the MM paint bottle lids then dabbed it on the heart and flower petals making it more 3D. I love the effect and it softens the strong aqua colour.

Idea 82: Make paper rosettes for the flower centres.

This one is made from Prima STRAWBERRY KISSES range and using Prima & Kaiser flowers.

Idea 83: Double up the title using different alphas.

Idea 84: Stamp the chipboard flourish with another flourish to highlight it.

A new DT and a new kit.

Happy easter everyone! Wow, well I have made my first 2 Design Team layouts for the new website www.whataboutme.ning.com – all about scrapping for yourself – something that I just don’t do and need to be encouraged so I was motivated to join this site.  Aside from that, been having fun scrapping, seeing as the kids are all sick and I’m house-bound atm.

First cab off the rank, a Websters page (of course) LOL. My favourite company.

Idea 74: Make a 3-layered flower from leaf petal shapes (& I made the leaves/branch too).

The paper from Cosmo Cricket Material girl was just perfect for this one.

Idea 75: Cover the border of the cardstock with paper then spray Glimmermist over the centre, then stitch around the edge of the spray to make a border. I also sprayed the flowers with Glimmermist just a little.

Idea 75: Di-sect the flowers to make them stretch further and get different sizes.

Idea 76: Sand the journalling tag to get a whiter background and match the page better.

This next layout, I kept simple because the Sassafrass Lass Cherry Delicious stickers are so busy.

Idea 77: Cut a cardstock circle out then stitch it to the page to create a neutral background to a potentially busy page.

And here’s my DT kit for this month.

Prima STRAWBERRY KISSES and Maya Road trim/lace.

Little Yellow Bicycle CLOTHESLINE papers and chipboard sticker words.

BG Kioshi (oops – forgot to photograph these before I used then).

Bo Bunny MAMMA RAZZI.

I used the PRIMA for my STEP X STEP at Annas this month – here’s a little sneaky. Keep watching the Annas blog over the next few weeks for full instructions.

What about me?

POST EDIT: I’m on the new Design Team! YAY!

That’s the name of the new blog www.whataboutme2010.blogspot.com/. Its an inspirational/challenge blog for scrappers who find it hard to scrap about themselves.  Its big launch is on April 3rd.  Here’s the  layout I have made for the first  challenge and the owner is also looking for 2 more DT members – its not too late to try out….

Idea 66: Handstitching in a zigzag pattern on the top & bottom border

Idea 67: Use glimmermist and spattering together to make a soft background.

Idea 68: Make some of the title letters 3D and some flat, overlaying each other.

I also got a few layouts done from my Annas Craft Cupboard DT kit. This fisrt one uses Sassafrass Lass Cherry Delicious.

Idea 69: Use the Maya Road ruffle trim for the flower centres by rolling it up and gluing it.

Idea 70: Paint a section of the background white for journalling on.

This next one I did a while ago for a feature on Annas Craft Cupboard of the new MME kits – this one was called ‘Beautiful’.

Idea 71: Cut out all the little detail pieces and make a flower arrangement from them.

Idea 72: Cut the photo into a slender and rounded shape – slimline.

I also had enough left to make these 2 cards.

Idea 73: make a box flower.

Oh My Goodness…more news

Since changing my style, my layouts have been getting a lot of attention (which I’m totally not used too) but it sure is encouraging. Now Imaginisce has picked up on this….http://imaginiscescrapbooking.blogspot.com/2010/03/ispy-cousins-layout-at-annas-craft.html.  I have also been busy with some more layouts .

Idea 61: Cut a badge shape from white paper, cover the cardstock then spray with Glimmermist (I used Vanilla Breeze) then roughly trace the outline twice with black pen.

Idea 62: Use the end of the handle of a paintbrush to make small 3d dots such as around the clock edge, like the minutes.

I so adore this photo that I had to scrap both the colour and Black and white, so this one below is for my daughters album. I used Bella products for this one.

Idea 63: Dot the flower centres with Pearlz paint.

Idea 64: Spray the window with Glimmermist then off-set it.

Idea 65: Paint the branches 3 different colours for interest.

Exciting news…

I had an email in my box this morning saying my layout (below) had been chosen for the Banner, as well as it getting lots of attention from all around the world on the Websters pages blog. Now I’m in with a chance to win a big box full of Websters goodies! Thankyou all for your heart-warming comments.  This is only my 2nd layout with Websters pages and I am totally and completely hooked.

Idea 57: Pinch & stitch the flower petal in the centres to make them stand up and give more dimension.

Idea 58: Cut double of the butterflies and bend up the wings to make the 3 dimensional.

And here’s one I did for Anna’s Craft Cupboard with LUCY BIRD papers from the DT kit. The challenge here was to make such bright papers, softer and not as intense using sanding and white-washing.

Idea 59: White out the centre of the journal tag with paint, then add journalling.

Idea 60: Put the title directly on the photo.

I am in luuuurve!

with Websters pages….Oh my goodness, since changing my scrapping style, I just can’t get enough. This is my first ever Websters page and I am hooked!

I’ve decided I’m going to frame this one. Here’s some close up of the detail that I had so much fun with.

Idea 48: Tie a lace bow as a flower centre.

Idea 49: Twist cardstock strips around a skewer for flower stems (thankyou Carole Janson)

Idea 50: Paint a fabric thicker with Shimmerz Blingz for some sparkle.

Idea 51: Make a lace flower by threading butchers string through the holes and pulling it tight into a bow.

Idea 52: Fold flowers in half and tuck them under things for bulk and texture.

Idea 53:  Use Kaiser pearls like stardust.

I ordered some Websters from Annas Craft Cupboard and it wasn’t enough so I went to my LSS and bought mooooorrre. (LOL)

Anyway, before all that happened, I got my DT kit.

SassaFrass Lass/Cherry delicious

Cosmo Cricket/Material Girl

Imaginisce/Lucy bird

So far I have made this layout with the Cosmo (it was really interesting to see if I could do something soft and romantic now that I’ve changed my style).

Idea 54: Scruch the flowers tomake them look more romantic and soft.

Idea 55: Sand the flowers to make them softer-looking and less intense in colour.

Idea 56: Stamp on the twill.

I have also made this months Step x step project using Lucy bird, that will appear on Annas blog soon – here’s a little sneak peak.  And yep, you guessed it – soft and romantic.

We also has to make up some ideas using the MME kits – soon to feature on Annas blog. I used the BEAUTIFUL kit….here’s another little sneaky.

Wow, long post today but so much to share.
