What! No flowers?

LOL, yep, I actually managed to complete a layout with no flowers. I know, not like me at all but Kathy Link left a comment about how easy it is to rely on flowers (which I do cosĀ I totally love them) but I decided to challenge myself.

Idea 101: Make little circle features from the Prima Crystals/flower centres and pearls.

This layout was also the colours for last weeks Palette at The Colour Room.

Also been using my DT kit from Annas last week and came up with these. Bright colours are not really me anymore but I still managed something romantic-looking from the Fancy Pants ‘About a Girl’ range.

And this one is from the Bella Blvd ‘Estate Sale’ range.

Idea 102: Stitch a wavey border around the page and around the badge shape of patterned paper.

Idea 103: Make flowers from the Maya Road pink loopy trim.

Idea 104: Ink the cardstock lace made from the Martha Stewart punch.

And here’s a little sneak peak of my step x step project for this month over at Annas Craft Cupboard.

This layout is using the new ‘Hey Birdie; range from Kaiser.

Woohoo – 100 ideas!

I did it. I have completed my own challenge of using 100 different ideas on virtually layout I have done. Some of them I loved, some of them were a bit lame (lol) and a couple of them were even my own, like the ‘frosting’. I loved making my own flowers and can’t wait to try more. Anyway… here is the last ideas of the challenge – idea 100! (Dah daah)

Idea 100: Use the Martha Stewart punched lace as a stensil to stamp a flower vine.

This LO uses the Kaiser ‘Hey birdie’ pps and rub-ons. And I couldn’t stop there, here’s another idea.

Idea 101: I made these little paper rolls to look like treasure maps.

Oh, and before I forget, there’s aĀ COMPETITION over at What-About-Me to win a little pack of goodies for a Mothers Day layout. Honestly, we just don’t scrap ourselves enough.Ā  I was shocked to discover that out ofĀ more thanĀ 800 pages I have now scrapped, only 19 of them were about me.Ā  I want my kids to know me when they are older so I’d better got more challenges done.

Birds, Bears and Bunnies

I seem to have discovered a whole new side to Kaiser Collections and am just loving what I can do with them as well as unwittingly scrapped photos with animals in them this week. I do LOVE this first layout though – I’m so pleased with it. It uses Tea @ Elsies papers & Peachy Keen.

Idea 91: Flick the background cardstock with waterpaint using a toothbrush.

Idea 92: Made another kind of rose by twisting a spiral for the centre.

Idea 93: Use the silhouette of the branches I cut out to do shadow stamping.

And here’s the bunny bit (LOL), well…Easter eggs anyway. This is the last one from my April DT kit for Annas.

Idea 94: Zig-zag stitch the smaller pieces ofĀ paper to the base paper.

Also made a Mothers Day card for Mum which also uses Kasier – the Devonshire range.

Oh, and here’s my step x step project using Prima Strawberry KissesĀ from Annas for this month now up on the blog.

Idea 95: Make a journal card with cardtsock as the base, lay a couple of flowers and a chipboard frame on it and spray with Glimmermist, remove the flowers and frame, then cut around the shape and trace with a black pen.

Idea 96: Cover the page with some paper leaving a 2″ border exposed then spray with Glimmermist – trace around it roughly.

The last of my DT kit

These are the last layouts I could squeeze out of my kit this month and I had a lot of fun with it.Ā  Still managing to do something new that I haven’t tried before on all my pages (at least I think I have).

I absolutely LOVE the new MAYA ROAD stuff including these clock rub-ons.

Idea 21: Stitching a grid in white then dragging an ink pad across it.

I wanted to make something special of these Kasier Drawers so I made a triangular brace for the top and decorated it with Collections chipboard pieces and Bella Blvd PLASTINO stickers. (I also used PLASTINO papers).

This My Little Shoebox TANISHA paper was a perfect match for the girls inflatable ring in these bright, fun photos.

Idea 22: Use strips of scallops across the centre of the page and use buttons as bubbles.

Idea 23:Ā Draw a different border with 2 off-set lines of different lengths.

I’ve started making sketches to model my pages from because I often get an idea and then forget it when I’m ready to scrap or I get too many ideas at once. This one I used for the above layout.Ā  Please check out my new SKETCHES page as I add more.

This one uses some of the Basic Grey SUAGR RUSH pp as well as the PLASTINO Bella Blvd pps.

Idea 24: Under-paint the lamp-post and cut a hole in the pp, draw inside it and embellish in the hole.

Idea 25: Cut a circle of scrap paper out then stamped over the top of it with several stamps leaving the centre blank, then I drew the circle edge.

Feb DT layouts & a journal

AnnaĀ sent meĀ an OTP Kaiser Journal this month for something a littleĀ different, so I wanted to make good use of it.Ā  I find that sometimes I want to tell my kids something special but don’t want to make a layout about it cos its over-kill. So now I have somewhere to put those little messages that they can read themselves when they are older – a keepsake.Ā

Each tab is the title page that starts a section for each of my girls. (I haven’t finished them quite though – well, I had finished them but someone spilt water on the table & ruined them – not impressed!) I used Kaiser ‘ Made with Love’ range.

Edited: Ok, noooowww I’m finished…. nothing too fancy though.

Idea 10: Use glimmermist as a base for a journalling spot.

Also did some simple layouts also with Kaiser & BG Sugar rush.

Idea 11: title over photosĀ

Idea 12: Ā paint on the photo edges to give a soft look.

Idea 13: ink across the foam thickers to give a soft appearance.

Idea 14: paint and stamp on the chipboard french flourish.

Idea 15: Spray glimmermist over the title then move it across like a shadow.

Idea 16: Stitch on the photo and overlap the photos. Add a button to the clouds. Hand-draw a fancy page border.

This one was my step x step page for Annas blog. Its the first time I’ve made the rosettes and they seem to be quite popular atm.

Idea 17: Make flowers from nested circles. Hack the edges.

And here’s the new Sketch competition for February – its a $40 voucher! Wish I could enter (LOL).
