Birds, Bears and Bunnies

I seem to have discovered a whole new side to Kaiser Collections and am just loving what I can do with them as well as unwittingly scrapped photos with animals in them this week. I do LOVE this first layout though – I’m so pleased with it. It uses Tea @ Elsies papers & Peachy Keen.

Idea 91: Flick the background cardstock with waterpaint using a toothbrush.

Idea 92: Made another kind of rose by twisting a spiral for the centre.

Idea 93: Use the silhouette of the branches I cut out to do shadow stamping.

And here’s the bunny bit (LOL), well…Easter eggs anyway. This is the last one from my April DT kit for Annas.

Idea 94: Zig-zag stitch the smaller pieces of paper to the base paper.

Also made a Mothers Day card for Mum which also uses Kasier – the Devonshire range.

Oh, and here’s my step x step project using Prima Strawberry Kisses from Annas for this month now up on the blog.

Idea 95: Make a journal card with cardtsock as the base, lay a couple of flowers and a chipboard frame on it and spray with Glimmermist, remove the flowers and frame, then cut around the shape and trace with a black pen.

Idea 96: Cover the page with some paper leaving a 2″ border exposed then spray with Glimmermist – trace around it roughly.

Cards & layouts

I just love the Prima papers lately – they so suit my style and they so suited this photo. My DD6 really wanted a photo of a cuddle with her baby sister and I think this one is just beautiful, especially with the light coming in the window.

Idea 88: Machine stitch around the kraft cardstock to make a border then pull the stitching out.

Idea 89: Thread beads onto the branch wire.

My girls have also been learning how to make flowers from tissue paper so I used them on some cards for a change.

This one above  is made from Websters pages 6×6 paper pad.

And these next two are made from the Collections 6×6 paper pad.

Idea 90: Use up left over letters like Q, Z & Fs to make an interesting background, especially good on pages about talking or words.

I do actually have 3 girls…. (lol)

Seems like I’ve been scrapping my eldest and youngest DDs exclusively lately, (its just that their photos were the right colours). So I promised the next page would be of my other DD – she was very pleased with it.

From my DT kit, this one uses Bo Bunny Mammi-Razzi.

Idea 78: She particularly liked this sparkly tissue-paper flower I made.  You just cut 5 layers of 3 different size circles, stitch them together in the centre, spray with glimmermist, then blow-dry with a hair dryer and the layers separate. Quick and fun.

This next one uses more from my kit, Little Yellow Bicycle CLOTHESLINE range.

Can you believe her little tongue poked out like this for 6 months till we found out what it was causing it.

Idea 79: Make a lace rosette for the flower centre.

Idea 80: Back the journalling spot with felt (I would havr preferred to use pinking sheers, but I had none).

Idea 81: I think I can call this one my very own idea, I call it ‘FROSTING’. I dabbed an old toothbrush into the gunky paint that collects at the top of the MM paint bottle lids then dabbed it on the heart and flower petals making it more 3D. I love the effect and it softens the strong aqua colour.

Idea 82: Make paper rosettes for the flower centres.

This one is made from Prima STRAWBERRY KISSES range and using Prima & Kaiser flowers.

Idea 83: Double up the title using different alphas.

Idea 84: Stamp the chipboard flourish with another flourish to highlight it.

A new DT and a new kit.

Happy easter everyone! Wow, well I have made my first 2 Design Team layouts for the new website www.whataboutme.ning.com – all about scrapping for yourself – something that I just don’t do and need to be encouraged so I was motivated to join this site.  Aside from that, been having fun scrapping, seeing as the kids are all sick and I’m house-bound atm.

First cab off the rank, a Websters page (of course) LOL. My favourite company.

Idea 74: Make a 3-layered flower from leaf petal shapes (& I made the leaves/branch too).

The paper from Cosmo Cricket Material girl was just perfect for this one.

Idea 75: Cover the border of the cardstock with paper then spray Glimmermist over the centre, then stitch around the edge of the spray to make a border. I also sprayed the flowers with Glimmermist just a little.

Idea 75: Di-sect the flowers to make them stretch further and get different sizes.

Idea 76: Sand the journalling tag to get a whiter background and match the page better.

This next layout, I kept simple because the Sassafrass Lass Cherry Delicious stickers are so busy.

Idea 77: Cut a cardstock circle out then stitch it to the page to create a neutral background to a potentially busy page.

And here’s my DT kit for this month.

Prima STRAWBERRY KISSES and Maya Road trim/lace.

Little Yellow Bicycle CLOTHESLINE papers and chipboard sticker words.

BG Kioshi (oops – forgot to photograph these before I used then).

Bo Bunny MAMMA RAZZI.

I used the PRIMA for my STEP X STEP at Annas this month – here’s a little sneaky. Keep watching the Annas blog over the next few weeks for full instructions.

What about me?

POST EDIT: I’m on the new Design Team! YAY!

That’s the name of the new blog www.whataboutme2010.blogspot.com/. Its an inspirational/challenge blog for scrappers who find it hard to scrap about themselves.  Its big launch is on April 3rd.  Here’s the  layout I have made for the first  challenge and the owner is also looking for 2 more DT members – its not too late to try out….

Idea 66: Handstitching in a zigzag pattern on the top & bottom border

Idea 67: Use glimmermist and spattering together to make a soft background.

Idea 68: Make some of the title letters 3D and some flat, overlaying each other.

I also got a few layouts done from my Annas Craft Cupboard DT kit. This fisrt one uses Sassafrass Lass Cherry Delicious.

Idea 69: Use the Maya Road ruffle trim for the flower centres by rolling it up and gluing it.

Idea 70: Paint a section of the background white for journalling on.

This next one I did a while ago for a feature on Annas Craft Cupboard of the new MME kits – this one was called ‘Beautiful’.

Idea 71: Cut out all the little detail pieces and make a flower arrangement from them.

Idea 72: Cut the photo into a slender and rounded shape – slimline.

I also had enough left to make these 2 cards.

Idea 73: make a box flower.
